About Sichuan Spice
Hey, we're Sichuan Spice; family-run and Pittsburgh's largest Chinese restaurant specializing in food from the western Chinese province of Sichuan. From fragrant dishes to unique crafted cocktails, we promise to bring culinary excellence from our family to yours.
Located at 5700 Centre Ave Ground Floor, Pittsburgh, PA 15206, Sichuan Spice operates as a chinese restaurant serving Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as sichuan restaurant, so it may cover more than the name suggests.
In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Pittsburgh; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in Pennsylvania are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. The most common schedule is 11 amβ9:30 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Sichuan Spice at (412) 363-8888; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. More information is available on its website, sspice.net.
On Google it holds a rating of 4.3 out of 5 from 559 reviews, which is a strong result for a chinese restaurant in Pittsburgh and suggests consistent service.
Pittsburgh is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Pittsburgh follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Amara was my server. This place is incredible. I recommend the shredded pork and tofu and the diced chengdu chicken and hot pepper. The food is incredible. For $17-$19 an entree and it is huge. I highly recommend. Ite really so great.

Szechuan Spice has officially become our go-to spot for Chinese food. We dine here several times a month, and the food is consistently delicious. Every dish weβve tried has been fresh, flavorful, and served hot, which is why we keep coming back. A special shoutout to Amara, who is always so friendly, attentive, and helpful. She consistently provides excellent service and makes every visit enjoyable. Great food is one thing, but great service is what keeps us coming back. If youβre looking for amazing Chinese food with a welcoming atmosphere and outstanding service, Szechuan Spice is definitely worth a visit.

As soon as I walked in I was greeted with a smile. They have a decent variety of food on their menu. Although, in my opinion, it is a little over priced considering the quality of the food is just fair enough for a bland taste. All in all I'd say if you have 2+ people, look elsewhere them compare.
